Expected marginal seat revenue (EMSR) is a\r\nwell-known method for airline seat inventory control\r\nairlines. However, this method employs a static model to\r\nstudy the dynamic reservation process, and does not take\r\ninto account the risk tolerance of policy makers. Expected\r\nmarginal seat utility (EMSU) replaces revenue by utility,\r\nwhich addresses the real situation of seat inventory\r\ncontrol. However, there is still a lack of multi-leg seat\r\ncontrol algorithms based on EMSU. Therefore, using\r\nEMSU and bucket algorithms, this paper applies the\r\nMarkov decision-making process to simulate the flight\r\nreservation process and builds a dynamic multi-leg seat\r\ninventory control model. Experimental results validate\r\nthe effectiveness of the proposed method.
